I just got an american eskimo or siberian husky that has its tail has been bobed off. Why do they have its tail cut? Is this normal? How do I tell which dog I have because it was given to me.

The original name of the breed was German Spitz. The Spitz part of the name refers to the larger category of dogs that have erect ears and curled tails. During WW I, the name (German) fell out of popularity, so the breed was renamed American Spitz and then American Eskimo. (I have no idea why Eskimo….)

no no no no……….holly american eskimos DONT eat meat in fact they cant it will make them really sick so dont say that!
